Quality Technician


Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Visually inspects parts looking for defects.

  • Inspects parts using equipment such as gauges, calipers, micrometers.

  • Tests parts using equipment such as drop test, hot tank.

  • Measures parts and calculates average measurements.

  • Reworks plastic parts using hand tools such as knives and scrapers.

  • Records inspection data.

  • Performs daily quality audits in the Shop Floor Monitoring System.

  • Assist in the performance of internal/external audits.

  • Performing work as assigned by Quality Manager/Engineer/Plant Manager.

  • Trains Machine Attendant/Finishers on job specific work instructions.

  • Assure attendants/finishers are aware of quality alerts.

  • Effective response to questions from team members and management.

  • Assists workers in resolving problems.

  • Demonstrate professional conduct, be quality driven with an attention to detail.

  • Recommends measures to improve quality of product.

  • Using computers and computer systems to process information.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in plastics/molding. Blow molding a plus

  • Must be able to work weekends and off shifts

  • Excellent communication skills. An ability to persuasively present information both orally and in writing and an ability to make presentations to executive team members as well as to key contacts at major customer.

  • Bilingual Spanish a plus.

  • High level of self-motivation, self-confidence, and enthusiasm for operations.
